SAA Lesbian & Gay Archives Roundtable Scholarship


The Lesbian and Gay Archives Roundtable (LAGAR) of the Society of American Archivists is offering two scholarships to the SAA Annual Meeting in Washington DC, July 31-August 6, 2006.  The awards cover up to $500 of the conference fee and hotel expenses. The winners of the awards will be expected to attend the annual meeting of the Lesbian and Gay Archives Roundtable, which is held during the SAA meeting, and to write a short article of their experience at the meeting for the LAGAR newsletter.

To be eligible for the award, candidates must:

*Be a paid employee or a volunteer in an archives whose primary focus is on lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered history, OR

*Be a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered graduate student who has taken at least one graduate level course in archival administration.  Demonstrated interest/work in LGBT archives is preferable.


To Apply: Submit a current resume, a cover letter including a statement of the expected benefits of attending the SAA meeting, and a letter of reference from a person with knowledge of the applicants work or educational program.
