Government Records Section
Annual Meeting Information
This year’s meeting will feature several presentations of
interest to any archivist who deals with government records. Issues and topics
include selling public records, appraising and processing electronic records,
and ensuring that an information system is trustworthy and reliable. Peter
Blodgett, on behalf of SAA, will discuss SAA’s latest efforts to prevent the
sale of official public records on E-Bay. NAGARA archivists will report on the
National Archives’ progress in appraising and processing the Clinton
administration’s electronic records. A Minnesota Historical Society archivist
will provide an update on MHS’s collaborative Trustworthy Information Systems
project. The presentations will be preceded by reports from the sections and SAA
Council Liaison David Haury, and the nomination and election of new steering
committee members and section officers.
