Electronic Records Section
The Electronic Records Section (ERS) functions as a locus of expertise, leadership
and information sharing for the Society of American Archivists (SAA) regarding
the management and preservation of records in electronic form.
ERS Leader -- Erin O'Meara
Biography
Ms. O’Meara is currently the Electronic Records Archivist at the University of Oregon.
Before joining the UO Libraries in 2005, she was a Records Management Analyst at the
Oregon State Archives. She received a Masters of Archival Studies in 2004 from the
University of British Columbia. While at UBC, she conducted research for the
InterPARES 2 Project pertaining to archaeological records managed in Geographic
Information Systems. She was an NHPRC Electronic Records Research Fellow in
2006-2007, during which time her research focused on a recordkeeping framework
for social scientists conducting data-intensive research. She currently serves
as a mentor through the Northwest Archivists Mentoring Program. She was chair
of the Oliver Wendell Holmes Travel Award Subcommittee in SAA this past year.
