Description:

Our finding aids are marked up in EAD 2002 using primarily XMetal 2.0 but also Notetab. HTML files are created using an adaptation of the XSLT stylesheet available from the EAD Cookbook. Both XML and HTML file are placed on a server, with the XML files serving as the basis for searching across finding aids using Amberfish. The finding aids are accessible in several ways. We have placed links and collection abstracts for each individual collection on both University Archives and Manuscript pages of the Rutgers Special Collections and University Archives Web Page. We have been also provided links using the 856 field in our AMC records for our local SIRSI system and have been reporting completed finding aids to RLG for inclusion in the Archive Grid.
