2005 July -- Section Announces Colloquium
The SAA Business Archives Section announced the contents of the August 18th Colloquium to be held in ew Orleans at the 2005 annual meeting of the Society of American Archivists. Information about the colloquium and the all-important business archives mixer can be found here.
2005 June -- Cox Letter in American Archivist Provokes Business Archivists
| Just when you thought it was safe to look at the cover of the American Archivist, the latest issue (volume 68, number 1) contains two letters to the editor unsympathetic to complaints over the Sun Mad Raisin cover of volume 66, number 2. The first, authored by Richard Cox of the University of Pittsburgh, wonders how archivists working in a business setting can maintain an ethical practice. Not surprsingly, business archivists reacted strongly to this assertion. Some comments can be read on the Archives and Archivists mailing list. No doubt this will be a topic of discussion at the 2005 annual meeting. |
