Archivists & Archives of Color Roundtable

Our Mission
T
he Archivists and Archives of Color Roundtable was established in 1987 as an interest group within the Society of American Archivists. The Roundtable's purposes are to:

  • Identify and address the concerns of archivists of African, Asian, Latino, and Native American descent
  • Promote wider participation of said archivists in the archival profession
  • Promote the preservation of archival materials that pertain to people of color.

Participation in AAC is open to all persons supportive of the Roundtable's mission. The Roundtable meets once a year during the Society of American Archivists annual meeting. The AAC newsletter is published twice a year and mailed to those listed on the Roundtable's mailing list. Membership in SAA is greatly encouraged. However, membership in SAA is not required to be on the Roundtable's mailing list. To serve as a co-chair of the Roundtable, you must be a member of SAA.
