Rebekah Kim is New Roundtable Co-Chair
Rebekah is the Managing Archivist of the GLBT Historical Society, where
she is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the archive.
She is currently serving on the Society of California Archivists' Education
Committee and Local Arrangement Committee. For Local Arrangements Rebekah
was in charge of vendor relations and advertisement, where she sold booth
and ad space for the 2008 SCA Annual General Meeting; exceeding the revenue
from the previous year.
Prior to joining the GLBT Historical Society, Rebekah was the Software
Archivist at the Computer History Museum, where she was responsible for
cataloguing, preservation, physical organization, and storage of the
software collection. She received her Master's degree in Library and
Information Science from San José State University with a specialization in
archival administration.

2008 Pinkett Winners: Monique Lloyd and Tiffany-Kay Sangwand
Monique Lloyd and Tiffany-Kay Sangwand are the recipients of SAA’s 2008 Harold T. Pinkett Minority Student Award.
Monique Lloyd is a graduate student at the School of Library and Information Management, Emporia State University, Oregon cohort. She expects to complete the MLS degree with an Archives Certificate in 2008. Monique is a member of the SAA Native American Archives and Archivists Roundtable. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Political Science and a minor in History. She is an active member of SAA, The American Library Association, the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries, and the Northwest Archivist Association. She also maintains a blog called “Adventures in Library School” where she stays abreast of the latest development in the profession.
Monique has also made numerous professional contributions. She is on the planning committee for the National Conference of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums: Guardians of Language, Memory and Lifeways to be held in 2009 in Portland. She also serves on the development and fundraising committee and the program committee for the American Indian Library Association. Monique has also presented her work at numerous conferences and published several scholarly articles.
Tiffany Kay (T-Kay) Sangwand is a second year student in UCLA’s joint Masters of Library and Information Science Program in the Department of Information Studies and M.A. Program in Latin American Studies with a specialization in Archival Studies. She received her B.A. in Gender & Women’s Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies from Scripps College, where she graduated Cum Laude, made the Dean’s List each year and was selected as a member of Phi Bet Kappa. Other awards T-Kay has received include the Latin American Studies M.A. Fellowship and Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship for Advanced Portuguese which she used to study archival practices in Brazil.
T-Kay is currently a scholar at the Center for Primary Research and Training at the UCLA Young Research Library Special Collections and a graduate researcher at the UCLA Center for the Study of Women. She has also worked at the Ethnomusicology Archive and interned at the Pacifica Radio Archives, The Coalition for Humane Immigration Rights of Los Angeles, and the Casa Del Peublo Cooperative. She is involved in the student chapter of SAA at UCLA, and has presented her work at several professional meetings.
