Philip Mooney
Phil Mooney has been the Director of the Archives Department of
The Coca-Cola Company since 1977. Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, he was an archivist at the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies in Philadelphia and at Syracuse University.
A Fellow of the Society of American Archivists, he has been a frequent
speaker at archival meetings, and he has authored numerous articles on the
subject of business archives in the United States. Most recently he has contributed
chapters to The Records of American Business (1977) and Leadership and Administration
of Successful Archival Programs (2001). He has also taught a workshop on Business
Archives for the Society of American Archivists for over 20 years.
Phil has been a member of The Academy of Certified Archivists since
its inception in 1989 and has served as Regent for Outreach from 1998 – 2002.
In his role as archivist for The Coca-Cola Company, he has conducted
numerous interviews for radio and television including three segments on the
Today Show and appearances on The History Channel, the Food Network and CNN.
Phil holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College and a Masters
degree in History from Syracuse University.
