SAA Email Discussion Lists

The Society of American Archivists hosts a variety of public and private lists. Subscriptions to all lists, including those open to nonmembers, are facilitated via an individual's “SAA profile” or database record. Access to certain lists is dependent on one's member and/or committee status.

Discussion Lists

SAA Section Lists

SAA hosts an official email discussion list for all sections. SAA members may join and subscribe to an unlimited amount of sections and their discussion lists. Nonmembers may subscribe to up to three sections as list participants.

Click here to manage your membership in SAA Sections. Joining a section will automatically subscribe you to the corresponding section list. You can then modify your notification preferences.

Announcements List

The Announcements list provides a centralized place for SAA members to make announcements that have broad appeal, such as conference announcements, standards updates, surveys, and job announcements. All active members are automatically subscribed in "Daily Digest" mode. The list is moderated and used for single announcements, not discussion.

SAA Board, Committee, Task Force, and Working Group Lists

SAA hosts official email discussion lists for all boards, committees, task forces, and working groups. Access to these lists is restricted to group members.

SAA Fellows

SAA hosts an official email discussion list for Distinguished Fellows. Access to this list is restricted to SAA Fellows.

Archives and Archivists (A&A) List   (Discontinued)

The A&A List was an open forum for all topics relating to archival theory and practice. Click here to view the list archives and Terms of Participation.

Originally established in 1989 and hosted by Miami University, the Archives & Archivists List was hosted and managed by SAA from September 2006 to December 2017. The A&A List was decommissioned by the SAA Council on December 31, 2017.
