Emory University Libraries invites applications for Coordinator, Research Services and Reference Archivist for Modern Literature in the Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library (MARBL). MARBL has special strengths in literary, southern historical and African American collections. Literary collections comprise one of the Emory Libraries' principal strategic directions and include the internationally prominent manuscript collections of Salman Rushdie, Seamus Heaney, Ted Hughes, Alice Walker and many others.
Responsibilities: Provides leadership for the public service operations for MARBL and provides subject support for literature. Develops, implements, and coordinates policies and procedures for delivery of research and reference services. Coordinates and manages an active instructional program and promotes the widest possible use of MARBL collections by students, faculty, and scholars through presentations, writings, the web, and other outreach activities. Provides assistance to the Director of MARBL and Curator of Literary Collections for collection development in literature and provides support for related initiatives in literature. Collaborates with others to promote access to the holdings and services. Works collaboratively with other units of the Emory Libraries--Research and Instructional Services, the Pitts Theology Library, and Emory University Archives--to provide coordinated research services. Serves on MARBL's leadership team, participates in the establishment of policies and priorities, and participates in long-range strategic planning. Participates in and contributes to professional organizations.
