Processing Archivist

The Archdiocese of Atlanta seeks a creative and dynamic professional archivist skilled in processing, cataloging, collection development and outreach to assist the Director of Archives and Records. The Processing Archivist is responsible for arranging, describing and cataloging archival collections, including documents, photographs and artifacts, will conduct research that answers the needs of the staff and community, order supplies, prepare finding aids and assist in conducting a records inventory. Candidate must possess a Master of Arts or a Master of Library Science with a concentration in archival administration. Experience processing archival materials and records is required. Basic computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications, PhotoShop, scanning software and hardware, as well as an understanding of database management and authority control are also necessary. Prefer knowledge of emerging trends in archival processing and access with an emphasis on issues related to the management and preservation of electronic records. No phone calls please.
