In a dynamic environment of increasing collaboration with collegiate faculty and expansion of library services to the academic community, the University Libraries at Virginia Tech (www.lib.vt.edu) seeks to appoint service-oriented, innovative and self-motivated librarians to the newly created/existing library faculty positions. These positions will serve integral leadership roles in the rapidly expanding Special Collections department.
- Public Services Archivist
- Acquisitions and Processing Archivist
- 3-year Project Archivist
These professional positions are full-time, with the first two positions on a 12-month Continued Appointment (tenure) track and the third position a restricted three year appointment. The successful candidates will join the effort to promote Special Collections as a center of research, with shared responsibility for coordinating reference inquiries, campus outreach, classroom instruction, acquisitions and processing, and digital projects.
The positions report to the Director of Special Collections.
