Summer Internship Opportunity

WHAT: The Archives is seeking enthusiastic applicants for this year's William Davis Internship. This summer internship position is a 300 hour assignment with a stipend of $3000. Housing and transportation are NOT provided.
THE 2008 ASSIGNMENT: Be a part of Iditarod History! Joe Redington is considered the 'Father of the Iditarod.' The Redington Family Collection consists of artifacts, papers, and images related to all aspects of dog mushing and the creation of the famous Iditarod Sled Dog Race. The intern will receive training and then work on processing and cataloging images from the Redington Collection.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be at least 18 yrs old, computer literate, and should have an interest in a career in archives, libraries, history, art history, and/or museums. Experience (paid or volunteer) in an archives or museum setting, or current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate level archival studies program is desired but not required. Familiarity with dog mushing/racing is a plus.
DEADLINE: Applications must be received by March 31, 2008. A decision is expected by April 15th.
Salary Range: $3,000.00 stipend
