Project Archivist
Office of the Capitol Commission

Looking for an individual to participate in an NHPRC grant to for the arrangement and description of the Nebraska State Capitol archival collections. Duties will include inventorying project records, evaluation of materials for preservation concerns, rehousing materials when necessary, entering information into Archivists Toolkit database or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and assisting in the development of finding aids. The position will be paid at a rate of $20.00 per hour. No regular State Benefits are included. The end income over the grant period will be over $20,000. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Archives, Museum Studies, Library Science, or related field. Master's degree is preferred.
- 2-4 years of collections processing experience.
- Experience with architectural records a plus.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with delicate materials.
- Position is open until filled.
