Director, Library and Archives

The History Center seeks a collaborative, energetic, and technology-savvy Library & Archives director who will work in partnership with regional and national institutions to extend the reach of the institution as it fulfills its educational mission (use history as a tool to make good decisions in the present and plans for the future). The Director oversees a professional staff of eleven and a cadre of dedicated volunteers. The Director is a key member of the History Center's senior management team and is involved in the development of exhibitions, educational programs, and other activities, working in collaboration with educators, museum curators, development, and events staff. The Director also oversees the History Center's award-winning publications program (quarterly history journal, monographs, and books).
The successful candidate will have demonstrated professional library and archives administration skills, excellent communications skills (especially oral, written, and electronic), creativity, energy, and a willingness to collaborate with like-minded individuals and institutions.
