The Committee on Education and Professional Development (CEPD) invites you
to submit proposals for one- or two-day pre-conference programs to be held
August 15-16, 2005, at the SAA Annual Meeting in New
Orleans, Louisiana. We
encourage you to propose programs that you think would build on or enhance
SAA’s continuing education curriculum.
Proposals for new education programs
may be developed with specific groups in mind or for the broader SAA audience,
and are presented in one of the following
formats:
- Workshop: Intensive, problem-focused learning experience that
actively involves up to 30 participants in the identification and analysis
of problems
and in the development and evaluation of solutions.
- Seminar: Educational session
in which 30-40 participants obtain information from a knowledgeable resource
person in a given content area, allowing time for
questions, interaction, and discussion.
We welcome proposals from archivists
as well as professionals in related fields. Proposals e-mailed (preferred)
or postmarked by October 8, 2004, must include
the Pre-Conference Proposal Form and
appropriate supporting materials to be considered by CEPD.
