  Recorded session

Richard Pearce-Moses, Chair, Chair

Language may be the greatest barrier to understanding and collaboration, both within the profession and with other disciplines. The panelists will draw from their experience developing glossaries for the Society of American Archivists, InterPARES 2 (International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems), and CUSTARD (the Canadian-United States Taskforce on Archival Description). They will discuss fundamental concepts that cause problems of communication, focusing on problems when defining the concept of “record.”
