What
books are available?
The SAA
Publications and Products Catalog features the latest archives titles covering a broad range of topics
vital to archivists, historians, curators, librarians, records managers,
and other allied professionals committed to successfully managing their
collections. Search the catalog by keyword, title, author, or product
code to learn more about these resources. In addition, the catalog includes products such as “100% Archivist” t-shirts and caps.
Are all
books listed in the catalog in stock?
SAA tries to maintain a six-month inventory of each title. If, for some
reason, it is out of stock, we will contact you directly or the packing slip
for
your
order will list it as a "back order" and it will be sent to you
as soon as it is available.
How do
I place an order for publications?
Order via the online shopping cart. It's quick, easy, and secure.
On the publications detail page, click on the button to add an item to your
cart
and follow the
directions to submit your order.
Prepayment is required. All
online orders must be paid with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American
Express.)
To pay by check, create a proforma invoice (see below).
How do
I create a proforma invoice?
You can create a proforma invoice via the online shopping cart. To do this:
- Add the items you want to your cart and proceed with checkout.
- On the second-to-last screen of the checkout process, select “Create proforma invoice ” and click next.
- Click the button, “Generate Proforma Invoice”
This will generate a PDF proforma invoice. Once you have obtained your purchase order number, you can complete your order online or mail a check with your proforma order form.
Is my order secure?
Yes, your order is secure. SAA uses Secure Sockets Layer technology to encrypt
your order during transmission.

shipping/handling charges?
Yes, there
are shipping/handling charges. Click here for

How long
will it take to process my order?
Upon receipt,
orders take approximately 48 hours to process before being shipped.
How are
orders shipped?
U.S.A. orders:
Unless specified otherwise, your order will be shipped via UPS. Allow 1-2
weeks for delivery.
Orders outside
of U.S.A: Unless otherwise specified, your order will be shipped
via UPS International. Allow 1–2 weeks for delivery.
Is there
sales tax?
There is sales
tax for Illinois residents only because the office of the Society of American
Archivists is located in Chicago. Illinois residents must add 9% sales
tax. Tax-exempt organizations in Illinois must send a letter to SAA which
includes their federal tax-exempt number.
What
discounts are available?
Publications
listed in the catalog are available to members of the Society of American
Archivists at a discount off of the list price. This discount can add up
to a substantial savings and is just one of the many benefits
of membership in SAA. All others pay the list price for publications.
Are there
any quantity discounts?
As a nonprofit
publishing house and distributor, SAA is unable to offer quantity discounts.
Prices for SAA members are discounted as a benefit of membership. Discounts
beyond the member price are not available.
Are bookstores
or resellers eligible for any discounts?
As a non-profit
publishing house and distributor, SAA is unable to offer any discounts
to bookstores and resellers.
What
is the returns policy?
If merchandise is damaged upon arrival or if there is a problem with your order, please notify the SAA Publications Department immediately at 1-312-922-0140.
If you are returning merchandise, we request that you make claims within 45 days of the invoice date. There is a 20% re-stocking fee. Returns are accepted only when shipped at the customer's expense.
