We are pleased to announce that this year's special guest will be state historian and Chair of Texas State's History Department, Dr. Frank de la Teja. In February 2007, Gov. Rick Perry appointed de la Teja to serve the first-ever two-year term as the state historian of Texas. Dr. de la Teja has a close affinity with archives, having worked as an archivist at the Texas General Land Office before teaching. More information about Dr. de la Teja's role as state historian is available at http://www.txstate.edu/rising-stars/frank-de-la-teja.html.
The reception is free and open to the public and will include hors d'oeuvres.
